The Signature Programme

The NEOVIVA Signature Programme is our core treatment for people experiencing substance-related and behavioural addictions. Developed from decades of recovery experience and led by clinical expertise, this six-week programme provides structured treatment to address the underlying drivers of addiction and establishes a strong foundation for sustained recovery.

Our approach integrates medical and psychological care, individual therapy, group work, recovery counselling and mind-body therapies. Each element serves a clear clinical purpose, supporting clients from their initial assessment and stabilisation through focused therapeutic work and preparation for returning home.

About the programme

The Signature Programme combines medical, psychological and social expertise to help you build a deeper understanding of your addiction. Treatment involves understanding why the addiction started, how it affects your life, what factors contribute to maintaining it, and what might put your recovery at risk.

The Signature Programme combines medical, psychological and social expertise to build a deeper understanding of your addiction. We consider your physical and mental health, personal and relational history, current life circumstances, and sources of stress in creating a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs.

Why six weeks?

A six-week timeframe allows meaningful therapeutic work to proceed at a clinically appropriate pace. When you arrive, you spend time at our partner hospital for a comprehensive medical assessment and, where needed, begin a medically supervised withdrawal management. The first week at NEOVIVA focuses on settling in and planning your treatment plan, while the last week prepares you for returning home.

The four weeks between provide space to explore the underlying causes of addiction addiction, develop healthier coping strategies and consolidate changes that support long-term recovery.

How treatment progresses

Phase 1 of 7Six weeks
Arrival

Stabilisation Phase

You start with a comprehensive medical assessment at our partner hospital. If needed, you will receive medically supervised withdrawal support. This phase ensures you are physically stable enough to enter the programme safely.

Week 1

Preparation Phase

You work with the clinical team to explore your history, concerns and goals. Together, we identify early triggers and establish a treatment plan tailored to you.

Week 2

Process Phase 1

You begin to understand your emotions, behaviours and triggers more clearly, while developing greater awareness of the connection between your physical and psychological wellbeing.

Week 3

Process Phase 2

Therapeutic work deepens, helping you address distress, conflict, trauma and underlying beliefs. You also learn to recognise relapse risks and strengthen emotional resilience.

Week 4

Consolidation Phase 1

You practise managing your emotions, develop healthier ways of thinking and learn practical relapse-prevention skills. This phase also helps you explore your values and longer-term motivation.

Week 5

Consolidation Phase 2

You build on what you have learned so far, strengthen your coping skills, look at how addiction has affected your relationships and practise recovery skills in everyday situations.

Week 6

Transition Phase

As you prepare to return home, you complete final medical and psychological reviews and leave with a clear recovery plan, an established support network and strategies for handling future challenges.

Is the Signature Programme right for you?

The Signature Programme is designed for people experiencing substance-related or behavioural addictions who are ready to take part in a structured, abstinence-based programme that includes both individual therapy and group work.

Treatment takes place within NEOVIVA’s hotel setting, allowing you to follow a structured programme while remaining connected to aspects of everyday life. You will receive close medical and psychological oversight throughout your stay, but the programme is intended for people who can participate safely in this real-world environment.

Every prospective client completes a comprehensive pre-assessment prior to arrival to ensure the programme and setting can safely meet their needs.

Why group sessions matter

Addiction often leads to secrecy and isolation. The Signature Programme is intentionally group-based, giving you the chance to connect with others who are working towards similar recovery goals.

Within a small, mixed-gender group, you learn from shared experiences, receive honest feedback and practise healthier ways of relating to others. Alongside this, individual therapy provides the privacy and focused support needed to explore your experiences more deeply. Together, these approaches help rebuild connections that can support lasting recovery at home.

Group

The elements of treatment

The programme addresses the physical, psychological and social dimensions of addiction through a range of established treatments. Your treatment is adapted to your needs while retaining the structure central to the programme. Our multidisciplinary team works together to review your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

Individual psychotherapy. You will have two to three sessions each week with your lead therapist, building a therapeutic connection and exploring the experiences, emotions and patterns behind addiction.

Psychoeducational workshops. These therapist-led sessions deepen your understanding of addiction and recovery, exploring areas such as emotions, relationships, trauma, behaviour change and relapse prevention.

Medical and psychological care. We provide thorough assessments and ongoing clinical oversight to make sure your physical and mental health needs are met throughout your treatment.

Recovery counselling. Recovery Counsellors provide consistent day-to-day support, helping you apply what you learn when challenges arise. Some also bring lived experience of addiction and recovery, combining practical understanding with professional expertise.

Mind-body and experiential therapies. Yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, art therapy, Shinrin-Yoku and equine-assisted therapy support emotional awareness, nervous system regulation and different ways of engaging with therapy.

rTMS. If needed, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation can be used to help treat addiction, depression or anxiety.

Physical wellbeing. Personal training and weekend activities are designed to support your physical health and help you find enjoyable, restorative ways to spend your time.

Introduction to mutual aid

NEOVIVA is not a 12-step programme and is independent of any particular fellowship. However, during your stay, you are introduced to different types of mutual aid, including Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and other recovery groups that will help you build a support network with people in recovery who share common experiences.

A NEOVIVA team member accompanies you to off-site meetings and helps you consider whether a recovery community could support you as a complement to treatment.

Preparing for life beyond treatment

NEOVIVA is set within a hotel rather than an isolated clinical facility. You follow a structured treatment plan with the multidisciplinary team on site, while retaining some connection to everyday life.

Seeing other guests or becoming aware of social occasions may bring up thoughts or emotions associated with addiction. These moments allow you to safely examine your responses and practise coping skills with support from the clinical team.

This setting helps bridge the transition between your stay with us and home, allowing some everyday challenges to be explored before you leave NEOVIVA.

Family involvement in treatment

Family involvement is shaped by your preferences and what is clinically helpful. This may include regular updates, family visits, joint therapy sessions or guidance to help relatives understand your recovery plan. Some clients prefer limited involvement, while others benefit from working more closely with a partner or family member.

Ongoing support after you return home

Before you leave NEOVIVA, we work with you to create a personalised Continuing Recovery Plan. It identifies possible challenges, daily routines, sources of support, and practical steps to take if you begin to struggle.

The Signature Programme also provides up to seven months of structured support:

– Twelve online individual counselling sessions with your lead therapist, delivered on a gradual step-down schedule.

– Twelve Recovery Counsellor check-ins during the first two months.

– Unlimited access to our weekly online Continuing Care Group.

Staying in touch like this helps you apply what you have learned, deal with problems early and remain connected to people who understand your recovery.

The NEOVIVA Guarantee

At NEOVIVA, we believe our responsibility continues after you leave. Recovery can be difficult, and setbacks should not mean losing the support of people who know and understand you. We stay by your side, offering continuity, encouragement and further help when it is needed.

This commitment is reflected in the NEOVIVA Guarantee, something rarely offered in private addiction treatment. While no clinic can promise that relapse will never happen, eligible clients who complete NEOVIVA’s six-week programme, remain committed to abstinence, follow their Continuing Recovery Plan and participate in continuing care may return for up to four additional weeks of treatment at no extra cost if they relapse, subject to the Guarantee’s full terms and conditions.

Frequently asked questions

About the
programme

Can I attend for less than six weeks?
The Signature Programme lasts six weeks, the minimum length we recommend for the best results. After an assessment by one of our psychologists, we may sometimes allow shorter stays. However, a shorter stay does not count as completing the full programme and does not qualify for the NEOVIVA Guarantee. Continuing care may be possible after at least four weeks, depending on clinical agreement. Please contact us to discuss shorter-stay options.
Do I have to attend the group sessions?

Yes. Group sessions are an important part of our treatment because connecting with others, learning together and building relationships all support recovery.

Does the programme include detoxification?

If you need detoxification, we will arrange this through our partner hospital before you begin the main programme. The duration and level of medical support will depend on your needs.

Are all therapies included in the programme cost?

All therapies included in your agreed Signature Programme are covered by the programme cost. Additional charges may apply to unrelated medical treatment or optional services outside the programme.

Is the medical assessment included in the cost?
Yes. A standard medical assessment is included in the cost of the programme. If further diagnostics are required beyond the remit of the standard assessment, any additional costs will be discussed with you before they are carried out.
Can I still use my phone or laptop?

Yes, you can keep your phone and laptop. We just ask that you turn any digital devices off or set them to silent during treatment sessions so you can stay focused.

Can I work during treatment?

The Signature Programme is designed to help you focus on your recovery. We know that some clients may need to handle important work responsibilities during their stay. Where clinically appropriate, limited working time can be incorporated into your schedule. Please discuss this with our team before admission.
